FOREST GREEN chair Dale Vince has spoken out after the club's relegation was confirmed last night.
Back-to-back relegations for FGR means their seven year stay in the football league has now ended.
Forest Green's 6-0 defeat at the hands of Wrexham on Saturday had all but confirmed Steve Cotterill's side's relegation to The National League.
And Colchester United's 2-0 home win against Grimsby last night relegated Forest Green to the National League.
Club chair Dale Vince said: "Obviously everyone at the club is disappointed with the outcome of this season, which last night’s results have crystallised.
"Our best efforts have not been good enough, in recruitment primarily - it’s not a budget issue.
"On the upside, we now have in place an excellent manager and player recruitment lead in Steve Cotterill."
